Test printing the covers

I initially tried printing the Basque cover as it is the supplement that I am going to produce the spreads for.  These are the various different outcomes from the various different stocks I used.

Black and white mock ups.

Off white paper
 Inside cover

Cover on antique paper and grey sugar paper with the full bleed.

Coloured paper

Catalan Grey sugar paper. This print was a one off to see how the yellow would be effected by the grey paper and the result was rather surprising, it gives the cover a texture to the colour making it less flat adding to the pastel effect that I am going for.

I have gone from have a 10mm boarder round the edge to full bleed as the inside cover the flag will be 10mm from the edges. The best result I found when printing was the Catalan cover, printing red on a yellow background on grey sugar paper. The Basque cover on the same stock isn't as effective so I am going to try lowering the tint of the red and perhaps using green text, or just having a fuller tint of red.

I think that the Catalan cover is pretty much ready for print, what I plan to do is:

-  Reduce the tint of blue on the Scottish cover and have the text darker.
-  With the Galician cover have the text in a light solid sky blue on a really low blue tint.
-  Reduce the tint of the background and increase the tint of the text colour either red or green depending on what works better.
-  Use the same colours as the Basque cover but flip them.
