In this session we were working with both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop in conjunction with After Effects, this enables for more control over the letterforms. In both Illustrator and Photoshop the documents can be set up for working with film, this allows for easier transferring of files.
Title safe and action safe frames. The title safe are is used in Television broadcasting, it allows the picture to be viewed in a rectangular area which is far enough from the four edges, showing the text or graphics fitting neatly.
It is important when importing files from other programs like photoshop and illustrator that they are imported in the correct format. For example if an illustrator document has multiple layers which might be transformed within after effects it would have to be imported with to retain layer sizes.
An example of one of my words for the silent movie, each letter is on a separate layer.
