You can convert music from itunes or on a CD 
Royalty free audio Websites
'Sound Library' in Shared Folder
'Savetube' It is also capable of doing it from DVDs. From films you can look at youtube to find the various audio from films and tv series.


Commercially you would have to pay to use the music

Switch Application converts one audio format to another


Audio in After Effects
0db is the standard sound of the audio clip and -48 is no sound at all.
Keyframes can be used to fade it in and out or a dip in the volume. 


If the music is longer than the visual content it will need to be trimmed to fit within that. Hover the mouse over the music bar and change the length of the bar.

You cant hear audio if you just press the play button. It needs to be ram previewed. Also it is import when you render the video that you select audio output so that the composition formats with the audio.

Setting up Parent/child relationships

Orients itself along that path.

Just one of the experiments using one of my finals from the silent movie brief, adding audio and using parent/ child relationships within the composition.

Nesting compositions (Pre-composing)
Is putting one composition into another, this will group it onto one layer. Because it is a nested composition you are still able to work on it by just opening up the original which get updated in the final composition.
